Finding balance バランス感覚を養う
Being from Canada, I also was surrounded by nature growing up. I love outdoor activities. I enjoy spending time on mountains, near rivers or in the forest. A few years ago, a friend introduced me to climbing and I fell in love with the sport.
I'm a fairly active person, but I also enjoy relaxing at home. That's why after a good hike, you can most likely find me sitting in front of my computer playing video games. Recently, I've also started learning how to draw and how to play the piano.
カナダ出身なので、自然に囲まれて育ちました。私はアウトドアが大好きです。山や川の近く、森の中で過ごすのが好きです。数年前、友人からクライミングを紹介され、その魅力に取りつかれました。
私はかなりアクティブな人間ですが、家でのんびりするのも好きです。ハイキングの後は、パソコンの前でゲームをしていることが多いですね。最近は、絵を描いたり、ピアノを弾いたりすることもあります。

I love to learn new things, but I'm too lazy to master any skill.
Here are some of my useless skills: I can solve the Rubix cube, I can play the saxophone, I was my school's cup stacking champion, I can assemble a computer, I know how to do programming, I can edit videos, I used to play hackysack, and more!
I also have a pretty good memory for useless facts, so you want me on your team for trivia nights!
新しいことを学ぶのは好きですが、どんなスキルも習得するのは億劫です。
私の役に立たない特技をいくつか紹介します。ルービックスキューブは解けるし、サックスも吹けるし、学校のカップスタッキングのチャンピオンだったこともあります。

Think positive ポジティブに考える
In every aspect of my life, I try to be as positive as possible. Whenever I run into problems, I try to focus on the solution. Every challenge in life is an opportunity to grow. It's easier said than done though!
人生のあらゆる場面で、私はできるだけポジティブであろうと努めています。問題にぶつかったときは、その解決策に目を向けるようにしています。人生におけるすべてのチャレンジは、成長するためのチャンスなのです。言うは易く行うは難し、ですが。

Spreading smiles 笑顔の輪を広げる
Every day, I try to make people around me smile. Simple things like a compliment or a joke is usually all that's needed. Sometimes, you just need to show interest and listen. Other times, it's about giving advice. Whatever it is, if I can do it, why wouldn't I?
That's also my philosophy in the classroom. I want to make sure my students enjoy coming to school. If they enjoy being in my class, it becomes that much easier to teach them. That doesn't mean that we spend the whole day clowning around, but it does mean that I make an effort to make every day interesting.
私は毎日、周りの人たちを笑顔にすることを心がけています。褒めたり、冗談を言ったりと、簡単なことでいいんです。時には、関心を示して話を聞くことも必要です。また、アドバイスをすることもあります。何であれ、自分にできるなら、なぜやらないのか？
それは、教室での私の哲学でもあります。子どもが学校に来るのを楽しんでくれるようにしたいのです。子どもが楽しく授業を受けてくれれば、それだけ教えるのも楽になります。だからといって、一日中ふざけているわけではありませんが、毎日を面白くするために努力しています。
